2026 -
"Pet Pirates (Working Title)"

Due to local fires in Pasadena, Altadena, Pacific
Palisades and other areas (starting on January 7, 2025) the parade theme
was not announced as tradition on the third Thursday in January (January 16) but
instead was delayed until Tuesday, February 4, 2025. However, the
Design Contest continued as planned. |
The 2026 Design Contest ended on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. |

On Saturday, February 1, 2025 the Board of Directors
reviewed 51 entries and narrowed it down to 7 finalist |
The finalists were reviewed and ranked by the paid membership on
Thursday, February 6, 2025 in a special "Pick-The-Float" meeting |

Through a series of votes at the Pick-The-Float meeting,
the above design with a working title of "Pet Pirates" was picked as the
member's number one choice. This design was submitted by Dave Lowe
from Burbank, CA. |
This design was submitted to Pasadena Tournament of Roses for their
approval on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the Theme Draft meeting. |
Not wanting to wait for the official approval, the
Design Committee started working on ideas for the new float. On
Saturday, February 22nd the Design Committee kick-off brainstorming
meeting was held. |
On Tuesday, March 4, 2025 the first draft line drawing was released |

On Wednesday, March 5, 2025 we received confirmation that our design was accepted by
Pasadena Tournament of Roses. This makes Dave Lowe our Design
Contest winner. This is Dave's first time winning the Design
Contest. |

On Thursday, March 6, 2025 the second draft line
drawing was released |
On Friday, March 7, 2025 a third draft line drawing was released.
These three draft drawings will be presented to the Design Committee for
review, comparison and discussion. |
