On Saturday, January 30, 2016 the Board of Directors held a special
all-day meeting ran by Design Contest Chair, Linda Cozakos, to review
and discuss each Design Contest entry. The Board narrowed down the
25 entries to 6 finalists. |
The six finalists were presented to the paid membership on Thursday,
February 4, 2016 who voted and ultimately picked "Home Tweet Home"
(working title) as their number one choice. The number one pick was
submitted by Richard Burrow from Mission Viejo, CA. This is
Richard's second time winning the Design contest (first time was for
2013's Fantasy Trophy winning float "Deep Sea Adventure").
This entry was submitted to Pasadena Tournament of Roses for their
review at the Theme Draft meeting held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.
Approval from Pasadena Tournament of Roses was received on February 23,
2016. Next steps...the design concept goes before our Design Committee
who will work on making this black and white drawing into a colorful
float. |

On Saturday, February 27, 2016 the Design Committee held an open
Brainstorming meeting to solicit ideas for additions, changes and other
items such as animation, special effects and decoration suggestions.
These suggestions will be used by the Design Committee to come up
with the final design. |
The Design Committee met several times
and came up with the following working drawings. See how the
design changes and different ideas are considered. |

Above is the final line
drawing. From here the Decorations Committee will take over and
pick the colors so the Color Rendering can be created. On Thursday,
April 21, 2016 the general membership voted to keep and make "Home Tweet
Home" the official float title. |
|
Now that the line drawing is complete and
the float title has been selected, the next step is to select the float
colors. The rendering on the left is suggested colors to help the
Decorations Committee start the process of selecting the final float
colors. |
The Decorations Committee continues to
fine-tune the color selections and major decoration materials to be used
on the float. |
|
After the rendering has been
finalized, the Design Committee worked on ideas that are not shown on
the rendering. Below are some of the proposed ideas |
